Research Area: Climate Change and Conflict
Climate stress intensifies competition over the grazing lands, water, and farmland that sustain rural livelihoods, and that competition can fuel intercommunal violence. The lab investigates how communities and outside interveners manage these shared resources, including how UN peacekeepers can serve as an underrecognized form of climate adaptation by strengthening the local institutions that govern access to common-pool resources.
